So I've seen posts about Eve crashing and the likes here and there so I figure that it'd be a decent Idea to have a place for them...
So the Idea is to post any crashes/issues/ETC that you encounter, be it macro related or not it doesn't really matter but I figure It'd be nice to have a nice clean place for us to talk about CCP's continuing and ever-impressive fail.
I'll start here with 2 things:
1: While not a crash per say the new station interface (Captain's quarters) takes a dog's age to load, so I'd suggest that if you're often in a position where you have to dock/undock quickly/often (Station games? Low sec PvP? Mining...?) that you disable CQ sooner rather than later, and obviously for any macro related uses it'd be best to disable it as-well for the time being.
2: First thing I did after un-docking was warp to another station to pick up some drones... I opened the character sheet while in warp and the moment my ship tried to dock the game froze up, somehow it also started taking most of my CPU and it was up near 1gb of ram in use, which is odd because pre-incarna I've rarely seen eve pass the 450mb mark so I figure they have some kind of issue there... If this happens to you (Black screen, laggy mouse movements, repeating sounds), open task manager and kill Eve ASAP, if your running lower end hardware it wont take long for eve to eat up all your system resources and it could be a real @#$%^ to close it once that's happened.
All in all, I'd leave CQ off until they've ironed out some of the kinks, I mean sure look around and all, but it's not really an effective interface to use for anything (PvP, Mining, Mission running, ETC) even more so when it has a chance of crashing on you for something stupid like having a fitting window or character sheet open...
Luckily for the time being there doesn't seem to be any big changes in the out of station UI and all so any bots that don't require station use will most likely still function, those that do require stations *Should* function for the most part as-well as the original interface is still intact... TBH if it wasn't for the loading times and crashes I'd be quite pleased with the CQ. Though I still find that the lack of new ships/PvP content is utterly depressing... but I guess that keeping the care-bears happy has it's merits... for now....
