So I've seen posts about Eve crashing and the likes here and there so I figure that it'd be a decent Idea to have a place for them...

So the Idea is to post any crashes/issues/ETC that you encounter, be it macro related or not it doesn't really matter but I figure It'd be nice to have a nice clean place for us to talk about CCP's continuing and ever-impressive fail.

I'll start here with 2 things:

1: While not a crash per say the new station interface (Captain's quarters) takes a dog's age to load, so I'd suggest that if you're often in a position where you have to dock/undock quickly/often (Station games? Low sec PvP? Mining...?) that you disable CQ sooner rather than later, and obviously for any macro related uses it'd be best to disable it as-well for the time being.

2: First thing I did after un-docking was warp to another station to pick up some drones... I opened the character sheet while in warp and the moment my ship tried to dock the game froze up, somehow it also started taking most of my CPU and it was up near 1gb of ram in use, which is odd because pre-incarna I've rarely seen eve pass the 450mb mark so I figure they have some kind of issue there... If this happens to you (Black screen, laggy mouse movements, repeating sounds), open task manager and kill Eve ASAP, if your running lower end hardware it wont take long for eve to eat up all your system resources and it could be a real @#$%^ to close it once that's happened.

All in all, I'd leave CQ off until they've ironed out some of the kinks, I mean sure look around and all, but it's not really an effective interface to use for anything (PvP, Mining, Mission running, ETC) even more so when it has a chance of crashing on you for something stupid like having a fitting window or character sheet open...

Luckily for the time being there doesn't seem to be any big changes in the out of station UI and all so any bots that don't require station use will most likely still function, those that do require stations *Should* function for the most part as-well as the original interface is still intact... TBH if it wasn't for the loading times and crashes I'd be quite pleased with the CQ. Though I still find that the lack of new ships/PvP content is utterly depressing... but I guess that keeping the care-bears happy has it's merits... for now....

My only real concern: when do we get in-station PvP? Not much incentive for shitters to undock if they can go pay some even bigger shitters a bit of ISK to stare at their grossly misproportioned characters do a /dance emote. Hopefully DUST will let us log in on there and go blow their heads off, eh?

EDIT: Should mention I've disabled CQ on all my characters after about a 2 minute tour. Would've been 1 minute, but there's no Run as far as I could tell.

after being on and off for most of the day... i tried to load up a couple clients.... windows sent me a message saying i was dangerously low on memory. i opened the task manager to look at the performaance tab... 3.8g of ram in use out of 4. also, the running processes showed 12 instances of exefile.exe running. wtf? i ended all of them, and restarted the 2 clients, problem solved. but why the fuck would it have 12 eves running?

only issues i ahve had so far is this.

Was fitting out my new BS, i loaded it up in EFT first, was cap stable and enough tank for the missions i was doing, so while fitting ingame, my Powergrid, CPU and Cap did not change, or rarely did change and when they did update they had the wrong values.

Also i undocked witht he fitting window open, screenwent black, closed EvE, relogged in found i was 75K from the station, WHAT?! i must of had a large ship land ontop of me and bumped me but it was rather bizzare because i was still drifting away from the station, i didn't warp off.... so beware!!!! if ur game gets black screen of death, your toon will/may die.

Cheers on that point. It's slowmo from the couch to the pod, thank god the undock button is still there >.>

I so far haven't had any serious issues, just some goofy text UI problems if I do things a bit out of order.

The new client is ram hungry, eats around 500MB+ on my x64 system ouch.

I really wish they changed the lame loading for undocking to something exciting like how in Starfox 64 just before action your crew runs down that endless hall to their ships.

Makes me wonder if there's any lore regarding where you shit in a pod in the first place.

holy shit....!

Exactly! Also, the Noctis also has turret hardpoints on the Model for the new Salv/Tractor... however, they are TINY.. really scaled down, But, you get cool effects when your pulling in 4 targets with Tractor, and when your, at the same time, Salvaging...

the extended range of salvagers is being looked at as a possible bug according to eve-o forums. i don't see a reason why they should change it though, still need to have tractors for getting loot

is indeed un-intended quote from ccp dropbear

So it turns out this was an unintended side effect of the recent icon changes. We'll be restoring the old functionality in a near-future patch.

Enjoy it while it lasts. YARRRR!!
