Ran into a Bot in a (censored). It was chatting quite effectively in local. Like, it was sort of like talking like an online bot. It is on all the time, and bumping it has no effect, so it is a bot. If you put its name, and tank in the same sentence, it runs to base.
Any idea what bot this is, and where we can get it?
Hope this isn't some independent programmer making monies for himself, lol

Well there are two options:
a) It wasn't a bot.
b) You just failed the Turing test.

Lol, I am a 3rd year CIS major in Networking and Security.
I think that what I saw was most definitely a bot... The reactions just weren't... natural, like it had no memory. It would repeat the same answer to the same question.
I don't see why it would not be possible that this was a bot. It wouldn't take a great deal of work to outfit a bot to look at local, and compare what it sees to pre existing databases available for free online to come up with responses. Many of the programs that do this are written in C# anyhow, so it should be able to be hooked in theory. Maybe a separate program?
Just curious, I don't do a lot of programming in C, mainly in Java and Arduino C (robots)

On a more serious note, you can simply scrape an online chatterbot like rosette (http://labs.telltalegames.com/rosette/) but it won't fool anybody for longer than a minute.
Fetching commands from local is very stupid idea, so most likely it is a private bot ;)
